Current Professional Engagement: Survivor advocate with Mutera Global healing

What inspires your work on ending childhood sexual violence?

Personal experiences. Being a survivor of child sexual violence, Hajarah experienced unimaginable pain and silence, but over time, she transformed her trauma into a purpose to help others. She is committed to ensuring that no other child has to suffer in silence or endure what she had to go through.

One highlight from your experience in the SPROUT fellowship

An opportunity to work closely with a community of passionate and dedicated individuals we share a common goal however what was most impactful for me was the safe space provided for me as a survivor of child sexual violence to share my past experience and also the complexities of being a survivor advocate at the same time. This was so invaluable to me and has continued to inspire and motivate me in my work and daily life.
