Elda Moreno

Elda Moreno looks at the elimination of violence against children as a journey starting in denial and leading towards a coordinated and efficient action mobilising us all. She is thrilled to join Ignite and contribute to boosting our pace towards a world free from violence.

Elda is a Human Rights lawyer with an expertise in children's rights, gender equality, environmental law and sport policies. During her almost 30 years of professional experience in the Council of Europe and the United Nations, she has developed legal standards, public policies, programmes and campaigns in the fields of gender equality, children’s rights and the fight against violence. She has designed two major transversal programmes in the Council of Europe (on the Rights of the Child and on Gender Equality) and has been the driving force behind the adoption of major legal standards in the fields of child friendly justice and services, child participation and national strategies to end violence against children. Currently on a sabbatical from the Council of Europe, Elda provides consultancy services commuting between France and her home country (Spain). Since June 2023, she has been a member of the Gymnastics Ethics Foundation Council.
